Endangered Species
Robert F. Kennedy adds more evidence that people with critical thinking skills are an endangered species.
Thank you Orac Knows. Orac Knows did a great job of putting the Simpsonwood meeting quotes into context in his discussion of the Salon.com/Rolling Stone/Lujene Clark collaboration.
Autism Diva is very grateful to Orac Knows for giving up his personal time to expose the garbage writing done by Robert F. Kennedy Jr, or rather done by Lujene Clark and signed by Kennedy, by the look of it.
In case you haven't seen it, read "Evidence of Venom" and see what kind of person Lujene Clark is.
Clark has been soaking up kudos on the EoHarm Yahoo! Group for "working behind the scenes", as she says.
"I like working behind the scenes and many will never know the extent
that A-CHAMP and NoMercury are involved in a project. That's okay
with us...this is not about "tooting our horns" it is about getting
the job done in a credible and rational manner."(message 6165
from Thurs., June 16th))
OK, well now we know what Lujene's definition is of "credible and rational".
Sara Bridges, PhD. had sent an email to David Kirby which he posted on Tues, June 14, to the EoHarm group saying that "tomorrow" the Kennedy article would be coming out online from Rolling Stone and then Salon.com and she thanks Lujene Clark, Bobby Manning, and Bob Krakow for their tireless efforts in "helping bring this forth".
The next day, Lujene's organization, A-CHAMP asked people to distribute this message widely:
The whole thing is so disgusting. Lujene says her son descended into Asperger's syndrome after getting a vaccine age age 8! This is just silly. Whatever he descended into at age 8 it wasn't Asperger's syndrome, which by definition must be present before age 3.
So Mr. Kennedy spent a whole lot of time being told what to write by Lujene Clark, who seems to have a real problem with understanding what autism is and refuses to believe that there isn't a conspiracy here.
And Kennedy used his name to promote more fear and panic among parents, though unwittingly, it seems. On the metafilter blog, in a discussion of the Kennedy article, a parent of an 18 month old toddler expressed fear over the fact that his child had just been vaccinated. Great.
(edit: Autism Diva forgot to thank Paul for telling her about the Orac Knows blog. Paul's blog entry on this subject is here.)

"A-CHAMP
Action Alert
The online version of Rolling Stone's "Deadly Immunity", by Robert F. Kennedy, JR., is already sparking a national debate on the use of thimerosal, a mercury containing preservative, in vaccines. The online article can be found at http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/_/id/7395411.
This debate should be ratcheted up as the print version hits the newsstands starting today. This will coincide with the unprecedented, simultaneous release of the article on Salon.com.
Rolling Stone, released in a few markets on June 15, should be widely available by this weekend.
Lujene Clark, co-founder of NoMercury and A-CHAMP (Advocates for Children's Health Affected by Mercury Poisoning), worked extensively with Mr. Kennedy and his office over the past several weeks in preparing the article for publication. The print copy will contain a sidebar from Ms. Clark, providing perspective from her experience as the mother of a thimerosal-injured child and advocate for removing mercury from vaccines.
A-CHAMP encourages parents to obtain copies of Rolling Stone as soon as they are available to distribute to legislators and members of the medical community. Please spread the word to family and friends of Mr. Kennedy's courageous article appearing simultaneously in Rolling Stone and on Salon.com.
Do not wait for mainstream media to spread the word! Mr. Kennedy's scheduled appearances on ABC World News Tonight, 20/20 and his Thursday, June 16th appearance on Good Morning America have been cancelled by ABC. Officials at ABC stated their decision to cancel Mr. Kennedy's appearance on their network is because it is "too politically controversial."
In our opinion, ABC is more concerned about protecting their huge advertising revenues from the pharmaceutical industry than reporting news that could protect pregnant women, infants and children from mercury tainted vaccines. SHAME ON ABC!
Join us in asking our elected officials to remove this known neurotoxin from vaccines and to address the neurodevelopmental damage done to 1 in 6 American children.
